PPT can communicate to other applicatios using these methods.


MotionBuilder 7.5 - Connect to MotionBuilder using the PPT MoCap MotionBuilder plugin. MotionBuilder enables full body inverse kinematic simulations.

Serial - Output marker data over RS-232 serial connection. This protocol provides backward compatibility for applications built using WorldViz PPT v2 devices. This protocol also provides a connection for configurations in which Ethernet is not an option.

Shared Memory - Connect directly to a Vizard process that is running on the same host computer as is running PPT Studio 2008. The Vizard "vizppt.dls" automatically searches for a shared memory connection before searching via other means such as RS-232.

VRPN 6 - Output marker data over Ethernet using the VRPN 6 protocol. Vizard and many other applications readily connect to this protocol.

VRPN 7 - Output marker data over Ethernet using the VRPN 7 protocol. Vizard and many other applications readily connect to this protocol (recommended) 


Integrate Orientation Data


5 Point MoCap - Heuristic model of the human body to identify PPT wireless markers attached to the head, hands, and feet
CAVE eyes - Given two PPT wireless markers (3DOF data only), this plug-in will compute the 5DOF position and orientation solution necessary for driving a CAVE-like stereo projection system (recommended for CAVEs & Powerwalls)
Intersense - PPT Studio 2008 can connect to multiple InertiaCubes and tie the data to a particular PPT wireless markers. In this way, data returned by PPT is true 6DOF position & orientation data and is ready for use by any compatible application
Local offset - Create virtual PPT markers by applying static offsets. Applicable to correct for PPT marker location on top of HMD, when the position of the eyes is needed (requires 6DOF data)
Optical heading - Yaw data is pure optical based on 2 PPT markers, when possible. Smooth transitions between optical and Intersense yaw during optical occlusions (solves magnetic distortion in customer spaces)
Rigid body - Pure optical 6DOF solution based on 4 PPT LEDs

Calibrate


Higher Accuracy - PPT Studio 2008 uses improved calibration algorithms

Chaining - Multiple calibrations are automatically chained together. This allows cameras to be pointed in directions that optimize coverage rather than all cameras seeing the calibration rig simultaneously (large areas), or to calibrate odd areas like a "L" shaped space

Suppress Cameras - Ability to suppress cameras for handling missing or faulty cameras

Recalibrate Individual Cameras - Ability to un-calibrate single cameras for recalibrating only a portion of space (one single tripod is moved)
