i-space is a 3D visualization solution package enabling architects and their clients to create and experience immersive virtual walk-throughs of architectural 3D models.
With i-space you can immerse yourself in life size architectural models simply by donning a high-resolution stereo head-mounted display. Roam freely in virtual space by naturally walking and looking around; explore virtual buildings as if they were already built, and get a realistic feel for the size and shape of architectural designs.
i-space leverages and combines the unique advantages of virtual reality technologies developed by WorldViz, specifically their flagship products Vizard and PPT X4.
Vizard is a 3D software toolkit enabling architects to transform their architectural designs instantly into interactive virtual worlds. By importing your architectural designs into Vizard and adding a few lines of simple scripting, your models are ready to be explored in life-size as if they were already constructed. Vizard not only renders 3D models in real-time stereo, allowing users to view them via high-resolution head-mounted displays, but connects to real-time tracking devices to make your 3D experience truly immersive.
PPT X4 is an optical/inertial hybrid tracking solution, specifically designed for large spaces (30 x 30 feet and more), allowing you to walk unobstructed in virtual environments. By mounting four PPT cameras in the ceiling corners of an empty room, you can easily create your own architectural VR showroom. PPT X4 computes the exact 3D location and viewing direction of a user's head in real-time, enabling a truly immersive virtual reality experience.
If the size of an architectural model exceeds the dimensions of your show room, options to teleport users from one virtual room to another, or to amplify movements are available, maintaining an optimal level of realism and graphics quality.
