Virtual Reality Safety Training
Application
Simulate workplace environments, safety hazards, or machinery operation in ultra-realistic interactive 3D virtual environments and make safety training more effective than ever before. WorldViz provides a complete solution for creating, visualizing, and deploying the content you need for safety training.
How it works
Trainees literally walk through the virtual training environment in full scale and interact with virtual objects in real-time. Wearing only a head-mounted display (HMD), users are immersed in 3D stereoscopic virtual worlds and free to walk and explore naturally. A dedicated tracking system synchronizes movement in the real world with movement in the virtual world. Thus, trainees can walk freely and interact with the virtual world. WorldViz graphics designers and software engineers create custom designed virtual training worlds per your requirements.

System Components
WorldViz provides robust VR hardware that is within your budget requirements.
 |
Head Tracking, PPT-X: PPT lets you roam around freely in virtual environments. The system feeds your position and orientation data to the image generator. Four cameras boast accurate data over 10 by 10 meters of walking space. Wider area solutions are available. |
 |
3D Rendering, Vizard VR Software Toolkit: The platform for creating and rendering your interactive safety training application. Vizard comes loaded with plug-ins for all consumer available VR hardware peripherals to enhance your experience. |
 |
Head-Mounted Display, nVisor SX: The nVisor SX presents a crisp stereo image of 1280x1024 pixels per eye and a field-of-view of 60 degrees. Other head-mounted displays, with varying technical specifications are available. |
 |
Rendering Computer: Graphics rendering computers, customized to support your 3D rendering needs, are available from WorldViz. |
 |
3D CAD Model: WorldViz can help you create real-time ready 3D content or convert your existing 3D models into a Vizard compatible file format. While we favor 3D model creation in 3DS Max, any program that exports in .osg format is acceptable. |

Other Key Features of Virtual Reality Training Solutions
Immersion
is a key quality to ensure the transfer of skills from training scenarios to real-life situations. Immersive applications allow training participants to literally walk through and interact with the virtual world wearing a head mounted display (HMD). The 3D environments are visually rich and contain technically accurate models of the physical objects needed for training, such as hazardous materials or equipment.
Interaction
Training participants can naturally interact with virtual environments by wearing haptic gloves or using devices similar to joysticks. Even complex manufacturing or maintenance procedures can be accurately trained step by step, for example welding or aircraft safety checks.
Dynamic simulations
Depending on how individual users interact with a virtual environment, its parameters can instantly change dynamically. For example, the difficulty level of a training world can change depending on the performance level of a user. The simulations challenge the participants to exercise their situational awareness and employ their classroom experience in a dynamic environment.
After-action reviews can be an integral part of the VR scenario training. They are facilitated by playing back recorded sessions on a regular screen or wide field-of-view theater. In addition, the participant's trial parameters and qualitative scores are recorded in a user database module for reference and analysis.
