The StarVR One headset is a research grade, wide field of view headset from StarVR that provides users with built in eye tracking, a 210 degree field of view, lighthouse tracking, auto IPD adjustments and more. Here is a quick tutorial on how you can get it connected to WorldViz’s Vizard and Vizible software.

Note that the StarVR One works only on an Nvidia based graphics card

Minimum Requirements

Operating System: Windows 10 64 Bits (version 1809 or higher)

Memory: 16 GB

Graphics Card: NVIDIA® GeForce GTX 1080Ti (minimum) or NVIDIA® GeForce RTX 2080 or NVIDIA® Quadro RTX 5000 (recommended)

Nvidia Driver: 441.41 for GeForce GTX 1080Ti and 431.86 for Quadro RTX5000

Full, initial steps to get working can be found here https://www.starvr.com/developers_stage/

Steps:

  • Plug in power cable last
  • This will install both the necessary drivers;/software for StarVR One and the Tobii eye tracking
  • You will see a notification from StarVR Compass once the headset is connected
  • If the StarVR One does not connect you may need to make sure you have the driver toggled on in SteamVR

  • Set up your Vive Lighthouse system as normal
  • Turn on eye tracking in the Tobii software (found in the bottom right taskbar)
  • Optimize GPU settings according to this page on the StarVR One setup
